As with most charities we recognise the ongoing difficulty that there is in recruiting volunteers. A significant concern of potential trustees is the personal liability that attaches to them and to assuage we are delighted to announce that we have now achieved our ambition of becoming an Incorporated Charity (CIO).

The delayed end of Covid restrictions has meant that some of our planned events have been deferred; however, we hope that you were able to come and enjoy the last book sale in April and made some bargain purchases from our huge and regularly updated stock of books and jigsaws. There will be more regular book and jigsaw sales and to give you something to look forward to we are planning a Harvest supper at the end of September/early October. We will host this together with the Community Growers and thus again ensure all the produce used is locally sourced.  The next fundraising event is the open  garden  at Mount Prosperous, Bitham Lane, Hungerford, RG17 0RP on Sunday 3rd July from 2.00 to  5.00 with homemade cakes and teas. This is an amazing private 4 acre quintessential garden with lake in a glorious setting and we have  to thank the owners Rod and Bindi Kent for allowing this special visit.

Reroofing of porch, store and kitchen is completed. This marks the half way point in our ten year programme to update and improve the Hall and we are now beginning to firm up our exiting proposals for the next five years.  Budgets, programmes and funding projections are being “inked in” with the aim of ensuring this amazing village asset is available, viable and attractive into the future.

The long awaited cinema equipment is being installed and we will be announcing film shows shortly.
